Welcome

Queenswood United Church is a friendly church family, sharing God’s presence in Orléans, near Ottawa.  In spite of the pandemic, we remain an active community of faith, striving to do God’s will in the world and to care for our community and our precious church family.  We extend to you our prayers for your well-being during this difficult time, and invite you to discover our church community by reading our Mission and Community Statement, and exploring our website.

We have been holding some Sunday worship services at 10:30 in our chapel since Thanksgiving.  Please see the Events calendar for details.  We follow health and safety protocols, and, sadly, at this time, there is no singing during worship.

Queenswood United Church is a member of Multifaith Housing Initiative, and fully supports the “United We Stand” fundraising campaign.

United We Stand” is a fundraising campaign for Multifaith Housing Initiative’s Veteran’s House, which is Canada’s first supportive housing community for homeless veterans.  MHI has partnered with numerous organizations to provide residents with mental health and addiction services, employment supports, communal gathering spaces, an indoor gym, and a dog park for service dogs.  Please take the time to read about this special facility, and consider making a donation to help those who have done so much for us.

Mission

“During the pandemic, Queenswood United Church Groups and Committees are functioning as best they can. Outreach has remained active in helping to support those in need, and has led congregational participation in support of Centre 507, the OCCRC, KIVA, and other groups locally and abroad.  Our Community Garden continued to send fresh produce to the Orleans Cumberland Community Resource Centre Food Bank during the 2020 growing season, with plans for the same in 2021.  Members of QUC choir recorded anthems outdoors last fall for inclusion in online worship services, and the Men’s Club continues their social and fundraising activities.  Please email or phone the church office for more information on any of our groups and activities.”
